Color Throwdown #411

Hello everyone! Amy Rysavy here as your host for week's Color Throwdown challenge! I've chosen this fabulous sunset as the inspiration for this challenge. So the colours for this week is to use purple, magenta, poppy red (or orange), and yellow . Remember we just use generic colors (so any brand/type/whatever you have will work) and you can always feel free to add in neutrals (white/black/etc) to make your creation pop!

If you upload your creation to a public gallery, please use the keyword CTD411, and please use #CTD411 and #colorthrowdown on social media so we can find your gorgeous creations!  When linking up your creation using the linky tool below, please be sure to link your specific post, not a general link to your blog.  All of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, and you can always check there to be sure!

Here's some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the CTD team to get y'all started!

Color Throwdown #410

Hi, everyone!  It’s Wanda and it’s my turn to host this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  The colors from this week's inspiration photo are peach, aqua and gray.  The colors are generic and it's fine if you want to add in other neutrals.

Once you’ve finished your card or other paper crafting project using the colors, add a direct link to your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of the post.  And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD410 if you upload your project to an online gallery. You can use the keywords #ctd410 and #colorthrowdown if you upload to any social media sites (yes, we're on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!).  All of the challenge "rules" are in the right sidebar in case you have any questions.

Before you head off to create, here’s some inspiration from our talented team to get you started.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!

Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop

Hello, Color Throwdown Fans!  It's Lynn here and today the Color Throwdown Challenge is excited to be participating in the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop!
To celebrate this fantastic blog hop, Altenew is giving away $35 gift certificates to FIVE lucky winners. Winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the blogs listed below and will be announced on the Altenew blog on October 17th, 2016.

Altenew is also offering a free gift with every purchase now through September 16. (No need to add to cart, we will include the Coffee Ring stamp set. Limit one per customer while supplies last.)
And....at the bottom of this post is a link where you can enter an Altenew project where 5 projects  from the entries will be chosen and featured on the Altenew blog on October 17th.
I created two cards using the beautiful Altenew stamp sets, Spring Daisy and the new Bamboo Rose.  I used our current Color Throwdown Challenge colors which are below, yellow, black and blue and had fun using my distress inks to watercolor on both cards.
For my first card, I created a mask of the largest daisy and stamped three of the outlined daisies onto watercolor paper.  I used mustard seed, wild honey, crushed olive and tumbled glass distress inks to do my watercoloring.  I used a banner of black cardstock to stamp and heat emboss my sentiment with white embossing powder and to finish off my card, I added black rhinestones and black & white bakers twine.

For my second card, I used the Bamboo Rose set and stamped the roses and sentiment onto watercolor paper.  I used most of the same colored distress inks as my first card except I added the color broken china for some of the leaves and small buds.  The butterfly was stamped onto a piece of scrap watercolor paper, watercolored and cut out and then adhered to my card front, popping up the wings.  To finish off my card, I added silver sequins and used some Wink of Stella glitter on the small buds and butterfly.

Below is the list of the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop participants.

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to enter your Altenew project in the link below and comment for your chance to win!
