Color Throwdown: Blog Hop

I created two cards using the beautiful Altenew stamp sets, Spring Daisy and the new Bamboo Rose. I used our current Color Throwdown Challenge colors which are below, yellow, black and blue and had fun using my distress inks to watercolor on both cards.

For my first card, I created a mask of the largest daisy and stamped three of the outlined daisies onto watercolor paper. I used mustard seed, wild honey, crushed olive and tumbled glass distress inks to do my watercoloring. I used a banner of black cardstock to stamp and heat emboss my sentiment with white embossing powder and to finish off my card, I added black rhinestones and black & white bakers twine.

For my second card, I used the Bamboo Rose set and stamped the roses and sentiment onto watercolor paper. I used most of the same colored distress inks as my first card except I added the color broken china for some of the leaves and small buds. The butterfly was stamped onto a piece of scrap watercolor paper, watercolored and cut out and then adhered to my card front, popping up the wings. To finish off my card, I added silver sequins and used some Wink of Stella glitter on the small buds and butterfly.
